|Rescue Me ID: 15-07-29-00722Maggie & Ginger (female)|
I am searching for a loving family to give my longtime companions a home, hopefully together. A member of my family has been diagnosed with lymphoma and bronchitis so unfortunately we need to give them up. Maggie is on the couch in the photo. She is 10 1/2 yrs old German Shepherd, chow, lab mix and we've had her since she was 5 weeks old. She has weak back legs. She is afraid to walk on smooth surfaces because if she slips her back legs give out and it's difficult for her to get up. She is an attention hog, will whine when she wants something...petted, rubbed, to go out, a snack. Ginger is the other dog in the photo, a husky shar pei mix. She is 9 1/2 yrs old and we took Ginger in about 5 yrs ago. She is leary of new people but once you let her get to sniff and know you she's good. She is my guard dog, lets me know when anyone is near or if something is in the backyard. She follows me throughout the house, my protector. She loves attention and to be snuggled. Sometimes I think she thinks she's a lap dog. They don't have accidents in the house, they sit, laydown and come on command. Well Maggie has a hard time sitting because of her back legs. They are good dogs and I love them very much. If you would like to open up your heart and home to them please contact me immediately. Timing is critical because my family member starts chemo in a week and we need to find Maggie and Ginger a new home. Thank you. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-06-23-00346Bear (male)|
Bear is a good dog. He is very energetic and loves to run and play. However, he is living in the city and has limited space to run. He has become somewhat of an escape artist and is able to climb our small 4 foot wooden fence. Because of this, he has to be on his chain when outside. We would like for him to go to a home that has the space for him to run or a full privacy fenced in yard. Bear does well with other dogs (his best friends are a pit bull and a chiweenie mix). He also does well around adults and we have never had any problems with him around our 3 year old. He gets skiddish and has anxiety during thunderstorms and fireworks. He has lived with my grandmother in the city his entire life. He was given to her as a gift from her son who purchased him from a breeder in Wisconsin. He is purebread but we no longer have the papers. Due to health issues with my grandmother, she is no longer able to take care of Bear. We are looking to place him in a loving home. We just want him to get the attention that he deserves. If you have any additional questions or would like to know more about Bear Bear please feel free to contact me. The adoption fee is negotiable. Chow Chow Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Chow Chow is a big furry breed whose name literally means Puffy Lion Dog. Chow Chows are loyal companion animals but can sometimes be stubborn, obstinate, and overprotective against strangers. Chow chows need to be handled by a firm master. Chow chows can be aggressive with other pets but most are good with kids. Chow chows can live in an apartment and are equally good as inside or outside dogs. Daily walks help stave off behavior problems, although Chow Chows can be resistant to exercise.
