.Dusty has been with us now for about 15 months, which is a long time to us but probably seems like a longer time to him. Dusty is a Chow/Lab mix that came from a hoarding situation where he lived with numerous other dogs. So needless to say, he had to fight for his share of food and he does have some food aggression issues toward other dogs when its meal time even though they are in separate pens. We move Dusty where he can eat in peace without the fear of any other dog taking his food or even growling through the fencing. When he came to CSH, he came with his blind friend, Spirit. While Dusty is choosy about his canine friends, he was ... (Read More)great with Spirit and he was Spirit's Seeing Eye dog. It didnt take long to understand why Dusty came to us with some scars on his back and ears which have since healed, but Spirit didnt. We all wondered how a blind young dog like Spirit could live in a situation with so many other dogs and yet he had no wounds of any kind and was not malnourished. Dusty not only was Spirits eyes but his Guardian Angel! Wherever Dusty went, you can be sure that Spirit was tagging along behind him. Spirit was adopted to a wonderful gentleman who realized he must provide everything necessary for a blind dog. Dusty, like many others also must go to a home that will meet his needs which are no children or visiting grandchildren and no other pets giving Dusty what he so rightfully deserves, the opportunity to be someones #1 soul mate for the 1st time in his life. Dusty has spent time in a home with a volunteer giving us a glimpse of Dusty in a home using the requirements he needs. The volunteer loved her day away with Dusty spending lots of time walking, snuggling and watching Dusty chew his favorite Nylabone. He is also a perfect passenger in the car. Dusty is also a favorite among our volunteer walkers. A worker recently reported that when she takes Dusty from his pen to go outside he stops and looks up waiting for some pets and kisses before he will continue. So if you are childless, including no visiting grandchildren and looking for dog to keep you company, please consider giving Dusty a home. If you would like to meet Dusty, Please go to our website to fill out an application. Once you are approved you will be contacted for an appointment. - See more at: http://www.classifiedads.com/dogs-ad136123511.htm#sthash.37naRtHy.dpuf (Less)
