Meet Bear. You may remember this gorgeous guy from a desperate plea awhile back. Bear was facing a put-to-sleep destiny when a foster stepped up so that we could give him a new start on life.We are so glad that we did. Bear is doing great in his foster home. He is friendly, sweet, very well-behaved and treat driven; he likes to catch the treats being thrown in the air. His foster mom thinks he would do great in a clicker training class. Bear is a low-key 8-year-old chow mix who likes to hang out in the backyard. He likes to play with toys, but doesn't get the full concept of fetch. Bear is a bit of a tugger on leash, but loves to take ... (Read More)walks. Bear likes other dogs and occasionally plays with his foster siblings. He likes would do well with cats who like dogs. If the cats don't like dogs, he might show too much interest and make them uncomfortable. Bear is housebroken and crate trained. He is easy to love and care for and could be left alone unsupervised and uncrated. However, his foster mom does crate him because of her cats. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If you would like to meet Bear or if you have any questions, please send us an email to pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com or go to our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Chow Chow in Indiana
Chow Chow Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Chow Chow is a big furry breed whose name literally means Puffy Lion Dog. Chow Chows are loyal companion animals but can sometimes be stubborn, obstinate, and overprotective against strangers. Chow chows need to be handled by a firm master. Chow chows can be aggressive with other pets but most are good with kids. Chow chows can live in an apartment and are equally good as inside or outside dogs. Daily walks help stave off behavior problems, although Chow Chows can be resistant to exercise.
