Rescue Me ID: 16-01-27-00470Bear (male)

Chow Chow Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Bear. A lot of dogs get the name Bear, but not all deserve it. This guy has earned the name and wears the badge proudly. Bear was a stray last year as a pup. The finders tried locating the owners, but had no luck. they took him and tried to make him part of the family. Sadly for Bear there is a tiny dog and a grumpy old dog who really don't want him around. After a lot of back and forth, the family has decided that a new home is ultimately what would suit Bear most. We think Bear is probably just over a year. His breeds are a mystery. Although everyone wants to say chow when they see a black fluffy, we really don't think he is chow at ... (Read More)all. We are guessing border collie and maybe shepherd or something similar. He weighs about 55 pounds. He is very friendly and happy to meet new people as long as said people are not carrying a camera. Bear is a pretty energetic guy who still likes to jump. A lot. He does know basic commands, but needs more work on the jumping. Bear would be great with a doggy playmate who appreciates his energy. He loves to run and be a silly young dog. He does settle down and relax too. Bear pretty much ignores cats. He really hasn't been around friendly cats before. He might actually enjoy kitty company if the cats accepted him. As for kids, Bear is great. He somehow seems to know to be more careful around little ones. He bounces for adults, but is much milder around children. Bear is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. He is housebroken and crate trained too. He even likes to watch TV from crate whenever possible. If you are interested in adoption, please complete an application on our website at This is the first step of the adoption process. If you have any questions, please find us on Facebook or email us at Bear's adoption fee is $175. (Less)
