Rescue Me ID: 17-02-01-00462Chloe (female)
Chloe is the sweetest dog. My husband and I have had her for 6 years (rescued her as a pup) and enjoyed her very much. We recently had twins and found that she is not great with children. As much as it breaks our heart to give her up, we can't risk our childrens' safety. She would be best for an older adult/couple with love to give. She doesn't require much excercise, but loves her fenced yard. She's completely housebroken and barks rarely. She is known to growl when happy/being pet, so don't be alarmed. She loves belly rubs and cuddling. I'm happy to send additional photos or answer any questions. We only want to find her a loving home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-20-00312Ruger (male)
Ruger is a 4 year old Purebred male Chow who is Blonde in color and has been neutered. We got him at 8 weeks old. He gets along with anyone once he gets to know them. He is very protective of the family and has never bitten anyone. He loves attention! Ruger has an auto immune disease and requires medication. We will provide the meds to the new owners for the rest of Ruger's life. The reason we can't keep him...We're selling our house and moving in with family that can't have pets. A picture will be posted soon!

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-29-00618Lydia (female)
Doesn't Lydia look like she is out on a leisurely stroll, people-watching? We bet Lydia would love to find herself a fur-ever home with a family or individual that would take her on long walks to people watch in great spots where she can take in all the sights and smells she wants. Lydia is a 4 year old long-haired brindle beauty, she is already spayed and UTD with her rabies vaccine, and available for adoption for $40 from Second Chance Shelter in Boaz, Al.

Chow Chow Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. The Chow Chow is a big furry breed whose name literally means Puffy Lion Dog. Chow Chows are loyal companion animals but can sometimes be stubborn, obstinate, and overprotective against strangers. Chow chows need to be handled by a firm master. Chow chows can be aggressive with other pets but most are good with kids. Chow chows can live in an apartment and are equally good as inside or outside dogs. Daily walks help stave off behavior problems, although Chow Chows can be resistant to exercise.
